Description

Comedian and film star Dudley Moore joined Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman for a performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the New Jersey Symphony. Hugh Wolff conducted. Yo-Yo Ma, who this year just celebrated his 65th birthday, was 32 at the time. Producer Anisa Mehdi interviewed Dudley, Yo-Yo, and Itzhak all together before their concert at the Garden State Arts Center and, as you will see, there was some serious joking around.

In addition to being a movie star (10 and Arthur), Dudley Moore (1935–2002) was an accomplished pianist, both in jazz and classical music. He made a series of films with conductor Sir Georg Solti about symphony orchestras, recorded jazz albums, and even made a Carnegie Hall debut.
