GlassRoots ignites and builds the creative and economic vitality of greater Newark, with a focus on underserved youth and young adults, through the transformative power of the glass art experience. The studio has been in operation since 2001. We meet Executive Director Barbara Heisler, students in the GlassRoots industrial glass making class, and teaching artist Jason Minami as he works with a group of Newark high school kids in the hot shop.
