Pulitzer prize-winning author Junot Díaz describes his fascination with New Jersey, where he and his family settled after leaving the Dominican Republic. State of the Arts visits London Terrace Apartments in Parlin, NJ, where Díaz grew up and where he sets many of his stories. He reads from The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, his 2007 novel about a young Dominican from Paterson, NJ who goes to college at Rutgers. Deborah Treisman, fiction editor of The New Yorker, talks about Junot Díaz ‘s unique voice.
