Description

Jazz vocalist Samara Joy is in her early 20s, but her deeply moving take on the standards brings to mind the greats. In 2019, she won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition at NJPAC, and her career took off. We catch Samara in performance at the Bethany Jazz Vespers in Newark and at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater on the eve of her second album release, Linger Awhile, released by Verve.
