Description

Artist Willie Cole is known for bringing the worlds of African art and American consumerism together in his haunting and playful works. He’s exhibited internationally, and his one-person shows include the Montclair Art Museum, the University of Wyoming Art Museum, the Tampa Museum of Art, the Miami Art Museum, Bronx Museum of the Arts, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. State of the Arts visited his studio in 2006, where we found him making pieces from high heel shoes.
